Authorities arrived at the scene around 11 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Surveillance footage indicated that shots were fired at 10:43 a.m., followed by sounds of distress. A second gunshot was recorded soon after, leading to an eerie silence.

Paul Min, 58, Michelle's brother, expressed his belief that Bryan Walker killed Michelle before taking his own life. He revealed that Walker had faced significant financial troubles, losing over $100 million due to poor investments, which reportedly left him in a vulnerable mental state. Just before their deaths, Michelle had been considering institutionalizing her husband, a plan she and Paul had discussed for the day of the incident.

Paul Min mentioned finding a note with information about mental health facilities and speculated that Walker might have discovered this plan. A woman who identified herself as Michelle’s sister corroborated that Walker had been struggling with mental health issues for an extended period.

Investigators recovered a firearm and a suicide note containing passcodes for both phones at the scene. Paul Min stated that his sister was deeply devoted to Bryan, believing she should have recognized his crisis earlier. He intends to manage their fashion company as the family navigates the aftermath of this tragedy.

Founded in Berkeley in 1992, Bryn Walker operates six company-owned stores and sells to nearly a thousand boutiques nationwide. The Independent has reached out to the Oakland Police Department for additional details.
