Building on the success of previous collections, Collection 05 channels '80s athletic nostalgia through a modern lens, merging adidas Originals' sporting heritage with ASOS’ trend-focused design approach. Key styles feature peplum shapes, oversized funnel necks, and retro paneling, which reimagine iconic adidas silhouettes with a more expressive touch. The collection integrates half-zips and track-inspired looks in updated fabrications and unexpected detailing.
Rich textures such as leather, sheened nylon, and satin are used throughout the collection. Notable items include a two-tone, maxi-length faux-fur coat designed for layering and a classic adidas 3-Stripe track set updated in tonal brown with ornate embellishments. Additional standout elements include lustred jacquards, lace appliqué inserts, and crystal embellishments, enhancing core sportswear pieces for a fashion-forward finish.
The color palette features black, deep brown, neutrals, and rust, accented by blue, orange, and yellow. Patterns like neutral snakeskin and darker zebra prints contribute to a bolder aesthetic suitable for evening wear.
Pricing for the collection ranges from £50 to £350, with sizes available from XS to 2XL. Vanessa Spence, Executive Vice President of Brand and Creative at ASOS, remarked that the aim of Collection 05 is to empower customers to express their unique style through bold sportswear.
ASOS, founded in 2000, currently serves over 16 million customers across more than 100 markets by offering a diverse range of fashion products. adidas Originals, established in 2001, is known for its commitment to product innovation and its iconic Trefoil logo, which represents a blend of athletic heritage and contemporary youth culture.
