The clinic has restructured its scheduling to reduce wait times for new patients in northern Utah County from seven weeks to under twelve business days. To accommodate the anticipated increase in patient volume, Bahr Dermatology has also hired two certified medical assistants and a triage coordinator.
Under the guidance of board-certified physician Dr. Kirby Bahr, the expansion includes advanced diagnostic tools such as high-definition digital dermoscopy for automated mole mapping and lesion tracking. The facility has also introduced two new treatment options: a 595-nanometer pulsed-dye vascular laser system and a narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy cabinet. The laser system will assist in managing conditions like rosacea and hypertrophic scars, while the phototherapy unit will provide treatment for widespread skin conditions such as plaque psoriasis, vitiligo, and refractory atopic dermatitis.
Dr. Bahr noted, "This physical and technological expansion directly addresses an escalating demand for timely dermatological interventions in our region, where scheduling bottlenecks often delay critical medical care. Skin diseases require structured diagnostic rigor and early intervention."
The need for prompt evaluations is underscored by the high incidence of skin cancers in the Intermountain West, with approximately 9,500 people in the U.S. diagnosed with skin cancer daily. Furthermore, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Utah reports some of the highest melanoma rates in the nation due to environmental factors, leading Bahr Dermatology to establish a daily urgent-access screening triage for quick assessments of suspicious lesions.
In addition to medical and surgical dermatology, the expanded facility will offer aesthetic services, including medical-grade chemical peels and neuromodulator injections, aimed at addressing concerns like photoaging and acne scarring. The practice has also broadened its patient education efforts, publishing a guide on acne management for both adolescents and adults.
These enhancements reflect Bahr Dermatology's commitment to improving clinical precision and patient access within standardized healthcare delivery. Individuals interested in consultations or appointments can schedule through the clinic's administrative desk.
