PLT Health Solutions, Inc. has announced new clinical research demonstrating that ceratiq® Phytoceramides provide benefits not only for hydration and wrinkle appearance but also for sensitive skin and dermal density. Two randomized clinical studies confirmed enhancements in sensitive skin measures and dermal density, contributing to one of the most comprehensive scientific programs in the oral phytoceramide sector.

Ceratiq is a gluten-free wheat lipid extract that is abundant in phytoceramides. It is designed to support skin health from within by maintaining barrier integrity and bolstering the dermal matrix, which is crucial for skin density, firmness, hydration, and overall appearance. Offered in both oil and powder forms, ceratiq is suitable for dietary supplements, functional foods, and beauty-from-within products at a clinically backed dosage of 350 mg.

Sid Hulse, Vice President of Product Development at PLT Health Solutions, stated that the new studies reinforce both the scientific and commercial potential of ceratiq. He noted that as consumers increasingly recognize collagen as fundamental to skin health, ceratiq offers a unique approach by supporting the collagen-rich dermal matrix while providing visible hydration and wrinkle benefits. Hulse emphasized that these studies form part of an extensive research program featuring seven human clinical studies, hundreds of participants, and methodologies that yield credible, reproducible results.

In a study involving 60 women with sensitive skin, participants received either 350 mg of ceratiq or a placebo. Results revealed that ceratiq significantly reduced transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and erythema over 90 days. TEWL measures the amount of water escaping through the skin, indicating barrier integrity, while erythema was assessed through a standardized redness scale. The significant improvement in erythema substantiates the claim that ceratiq strengthens skin barrier function and reduces visible redness in sensitive skin.

In another study with 40 healthy women suffering from dry skin, the administration of 350 mg/day of ceratiq showed improvements in dermal density, hydration, firmness, and wrinkle appearance. Objective assessments using ultrasound and a Cutometer validated these improvements, revealing significant changes in skin structure and properties at the 90-day mark.

Jennifer L. Murphy, M.S., R.D., Head of Innovation and Clinical Science at PLT Health Solutions, remarked that the studies advance the understanding of ceratiq's benefits, connecting enhanced barrier function with reduced TEWL and redness in sensitive skin, as well as improved dermal density and hydration.

These findings build on over two decades of research, with previous studies showing that ceratiq increases hydration within four weeks and decreases wrinkle appearance after eight weeks, effects sustained for eight weeks post-supplementation.

The comprehensive program includes seven human clinical studies conducted in independent research environments using validated measurement techniques such as corneometry and Cutometer evaluations. Hulse highlighted that both the quantity and quality of these studies provide brands with a significant level of confidence in ceratiq's benefits.
