Notably, searches are becoming more granular. For instance, users are looking for a textured French bob rather than just any bob, and red manicures have evolved into dark-red cat-eye designs. Complementing this report, Pinterest has introduced Beauty Guides, an AI tool that converts hair and nail inspirations into detailed salon-ready guides.
The Beauty Trend Report is based on global search data comparing July 2025 to July 2026, interpreting growth percentages as trends rather than exact measures of popularity.
In hair trends, warm shades dominate this autumn. Searches for mocha balayage rose by 949%, soft copper blonde by 845%, and cherry cola brunette by 788%. Seasonal transitions are leading clients to opt for reds and coppers instead of summer-blonde hues. Spicy copper hair, for example, saw a 300% increase in searches over the past three months. Celebrities like Emma Stone and Sadie Sink have embraced this look on red carpets.
The report reveals that certain haircut styles are also gaining traction, including long layered bobs, which increased by 622%, and French bobs with wispy bangs, which rose by 394%. Celebrities such as Margot Robbie and Beyoncé have made these styles popular at high-profile events.
For makeup, trends indicate a preference for soft, natural looks, which have surged by 105%, with freckle makeup seeing a 70% rise. Meanwhile, colorful hair is making a comeback in smaller accents: searches for pink hair stripes increased by 463%, and dark pink peekaboo hair rose by 481%, aligning with the Y2K revival seen in fashion.
In the nail category, colors mimicking coffee shop beverages, like caramel nude and iced latte nails, are trending with notable increases. Chrome nails, while familiar, are being revitalized by playful designs such as polka dot cat-eye nails, which surged by 1,585%.
Blush is also evolving, with dusty rose and terracotta shades rising by 189% and 164%, respectively. This aligns with a broader trend toward sheer, cool-toned makeup, including frosted looks and silver eyeliner, which saw increases of 286% and 48% respectively.
In conjunction with the trend report, Pinterest launched Beauty Guides, designed to assist users in articulating their desired looks for salon visits. This tool, currently available on iOS in the U.S., employs AI to analyze stylistic elements and provide tailored advice for recreating those looks.
In a bid to connect online inspiration with reality, Pinterest also partnered with designer Claudia Smith at London Fashion Week, showcasing her couture collection inspired by digital finds.
