After a decade of attending New York Fashion Week from a local perspective, my recent journey marked my first NYFW experience as a tourist. Moving to Los Angeles made spring/summer 2027 my inaugural season navigating this event with the challenges of preplanning outfits and packing them into suitcases under 50 pounds. Luckily, the Edition hotels in New York served as my comfortable base during my short trip.

Starting my adventure on September 9, I arrived at the New York Edition after an early morning flight from Los Angeles. Gratefully, my hotel room greeted me with an array of La Mer products, which rejuvenated my post-flight skin. After a quick shower, I felt refreshed and ready for a jam-packed first night that included a Balenciaga cocktail party and Coach's S/S 27 show at Pier 36. For the evening, I opted for an old Khaite top paired with a striking leather maxi skirt.

At the Coach show, which celebrated its 85th anniversary, festive vibes were palpable, complete with birthday hats and a celebratory cake. Following Coach, I attended additional events before returning to the Edition for a late-night dinner of sourdough toast, bacon, and chamomile tea, a meal I also enjoyed for breakfast the next day.

On September 10, I woke early for a run along the West Side Highway, but rain forced a shift to an indoor workout at Equinox. After breakfast, I joined fellow editors for a scent-testing experience at Le Labo, renowned for its partnership with Edition hotels through the signature Thé Noir 29 perfume. I enjoyed an express La Mer facial at the hotel spa, which revitalized my skin in just 30 minutes.

Later that day, I attended Proenza Schouler's show, known for its texture-heavy collections. Afterward, I made my way to Tommy Hilfiger's show at The Plaza, featuring a star-studded VIP guest list, including Gigi Hadid. The show highlighted bold accessories and vibrant colors, a fitting showcase of the brand's creativity.

Amid the excitement, I found time to authenticate and purchase a coveted Chanel Shopping Bag at Fashionphile. Returning to the hotel, I enjoyed drinks with fellow travelers at Clemente Bar before a highly anticipated dinner at La Tête d'Or, which I had long sought reservations for. I made a quick exit during appetizers to attend the Tory Burch show, held at the picturesque Isamu Noguchi's Sunken Garden.

After a restorative night’s sleep, I enjoyed a Pilates class on September 11, then visited The Altar, a newly opened wellness studio specializing in sauna and cold-plunge experiences. After packing up, I moved to the Edition’s Times Square location, appreciating the surprisingly tranquil atmosphere amidst the bustling area.

Dinner at the hotel’s terrace restaurant preceded a Broadway viewing of The Lost Boys, my first show since relocating from New York. The production exceeded expectations, and we also had the opportunity to meet a cast member beforehand.

On September 12, I dressed for the Altuzarra show at the iconic Woolworth Building, donning a chic black-and-white outfit. After enjoying the show, I reflected on my delightful stay at both Edition hotels, certain of my choice for future visits to New York.
