Founded on the premise that dog skin care deserves as much attention as human skincare, The Canine Project was co-created by skincare expert Jan Sprung and Nancy Novograd, owner of All Tame Animals, an animal talent agency in New York. Sprung emphasized that while people are becoming more discerning about skincare ingredients, dog grooming often focuses mainly on cleaning fur. Their goal with FURVIVE™ is to prioritize the skin underneath and to ensure beautiful results that meet the specific needs of canine skin.

At the core of FURVIVE™ is Copaiba, a valuable Brazilian ingredient derived from the resin of Copaifera trees, which has not been widely used in dog grooming. The formula also features popular human skincare components like Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Oat Kernel, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, and Argan Oil, all specifically formulated for a dog's skin pH. Together, these elements aim to cleanse, soothe, hydrate, and condition both the skin and coat in a single application.

Novograd noted the importance of how dogs look, feel, and smell after a bath. She stated that FURVIVE™ provides a desirable softness and shine to a dog's coat while integrating skincare into the bathing process. The experience begins with a thick, concentrated gel that transforms into a luxurious lather, effectively removing dirt and odors.
