During the first quarter, Dermata raised $2.0 million in net proceeds through its at-the-market financing facility. CEO Gerry Proehl emphasized the company's commitment to its shift towards becoming a consumer-focused skincare brand since its strategic pivot in September 2025. Proehl stated that Dermata is finalizing product packaging and preparing clinical studies to support upcoming launches.

The company revealed it had $6.9 million in cash and equivalents as of March 31, 2026, down from $7.5 million at the end of 2025. This decrease resulted from approximately $2.0 million in financing proceeds being offset by $0.1 million in equity financing expenses and $2.5 million used in operations. The funds raised are estimated to support operations through the first quarter of 2027.

Research and development expenses amounted to $0.4 million, a decrease from $1.3 million in Q1 2025, primarily due to reduced clinical expenses. Selling, general, and administrative expenses rose to $1.5 million from approximately $1.1 million in the same quarter last year, attributed to increased marketing, audit, and legal fees.

Dermata has also appointed Kyra Peckaitis as Vice President of Marketing for the Tome brand. Peckaitis has extensive experience in direct-to-consumer marketing from her previous role at Coterie.

The company is laying the groundwork for future product launches following the Foundational Treatment. Dermata believes that its new skincare line, Tome, will incorporate scientifically-backed ingredients and simplify skincare routines. They plan to introduce additional products following the launch of the initial treatment.
