P N Rao Launches Kanjivaram-Inspired Menswear Collection in Chennai

P N Rao Fine Suits has unveiled its new collection, “Weaves of Legacy – Timeless Art of the Kanjivaram,” in Chennai. This launch took place on Tuesday and features traditional Dravidian motifs tailored for contemporary menswear.

The brand, which has a heritage of over 100 years, sources its inspiration from Kanchipuram, known for its historical temples and the famed Kanjivaram sarees. The ready-to-wear suits are priced at approximately ₹20,000, while the made-to-measure options range from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000 and are available at P N Rao locations in Anna Nagar and TTK Road, Alwarpet.

P N Rao was founded in 1923 by Pishe Narayan Rao in Bengaluru and became a preferred choice for British officers and high-ranking individuals due to its customised clothing.

The new collection incorporates vivid hues and intricate patterns, drawing from the temple architecture and sculptures of the region. Notable motifs include the Yazhi, peacock, lotus, and elephants, all reimagined for modern menswear.
