Ulta Beauty has appointed Brieane Olson, the current CEO of PacSun, to its Board of Directors, effective August 31, 2026. Olson brings over 20 years of specialty retail experience to the beauty retailer’s leadership team.

In her role at PacSun since 2023, Olson has been instrumental in strategic planning, brand development, omnichannel commerce, and merchandising. She previously served as President, Chief Brand Officer, and Chief Merchandising Officer during her nearly two-decade tenure with the company. Ulta Beauty highlighted that Olson’s expertise in leading consumer retail businesses through growth and transformation will aid in implementing its Ulta Beauty Unleashed strategy.
Olson’s appointment comes as she replaces Kelly G. Garcia, who is moving from the Board to take on the position of Chief Technology Officer, resulting in a 10-member Board for Ulta Beauty.
The addition of Olson is seen as a move to enhance Ulta Beauty’s Board with valuable insights in specialty retail and brand-building as the company navigates a competitive beauty retail landscape.
