Securing front row seats, planning outfits, and choosing accommodations are key components of traveling to Europe for fashion month. When organizing my trip to London Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2027 season, I decided to stay in the West End, particularly in Mayfair, to remain close to major show venues and cultural attractions. With a central location, my hotel allowed for quick access; I reached the Erdem show in Camden and the Roksanda show in South Bank in less than 30 minutes.

The Beaumont Mayfair, situated across from Brown Hart Gardens, provided a luxurious and tranquil retreat just steps away from the hustle of Oxford Street. Though discreet, the hotel is conveniently near Mayfair's top restaurants and shops. The Art Deco ambiance exudes glamour with features like wood-paneled walls and a marble bathroom in my Signature Suite, which offered a comfortable sitting room, a dining area, and a deep soaking tub. The hotel staff exceeded expectations, offering prompt service, including room service at the requested time.
Dining options at the hotel include Rosi, renowned for its modern British dishes like Chicken Wellington and Cottage Pie, and The Gatsby, famous for its afternoon tea. For relaxation, I recommended the hammam spa, which was a perfect way to unwind after my long flight from New York.
Coffee is essential during fashion week, and I started my mornings at Hagen Espresso Bar, known for premium Danish coffee. I also discovered Popina, a great local breakfast spot where I enjoyed shakshuka while combating jet lag. Most lunches were quick pastries between shows, making my dinners an opportunity to unwind. At Sketch, a Michelin-starred restaurant known for its Instagrammable decor, I indulged in a three-course pre-fixe menu that included tagliatelle with basil and a multilayer chocolate dessert.
During my stay, I dined with an editor friend at Dishoom for Indian cuisine and enjoyed upscale British fare at Berners Tavern at the London Edition Hotel in Soho. We concluded the trip with shared plates and martinis at the London location of Dante, which has quickly become popular among the fashion crowd.
Shopping in the West End is unparalleled, particularly on Oxford and Regent Streets, home to brands like Zara and iconic department store Selfridges. I also explored high-end boutiques on Bond Street and ventured into Soho for vintage shops and more.
Despite visiting London before, I had never seen a West End show. I made it a priority to catch Moulin Rouge at Piccadilly Theatre, a highlight of my trip. Additionally, I participated in a North Indian Thali cooking class at The Jamie Oliver Cookery School, allowing me to recreate a memorable dish from my travels.
