This release coincides with a productive period for McRae, who recently wrapped up her Miss Possessive World Tour in late 2025 and energized her fan base with headlining performances at major music festivals, including Osheaga and Lollapalooza. During her set, she made a memorable impression by covering herself in gold, a sticky experience she candidly recounted as gross but worthwhile.

Developed in collaboration with Scent Beauty, Inc., Tate 01 features a blend of notes including sage, bergamot, amber, tonka bean, and sandalwood, incorporating ISO E Super, a lab-created synthetic compound that adapts to individual body chemistry. The fragrance is available for purchase online at tatebytm.com and will be on shelves at Ulta Beauty starting October 16.

In discussing the inspiration behind Tate 01, McRae shared her extensive exploration of scents to find what resonates with her personally. She noted the fragrance's unique quality, stating that it smells different on everyone, thanks to its pheromone-enhancing ingredients.

McRae expressed her long-standing desire to create a fragrance, fueled by her passion for scents and her personal journey to find a new signature perfume. When asked about the potential for future releases, she hinted at a broader vision for the brand, stating, "This will definitely be a legacy beauty brand, and we’re going to have lots more to come."

She described her ideal contexts for wearing Tate 01, mentioning dinner outings, parties, and even bedtime rituals. The packaging also reflects her aesthetic, as she sought a design that would remain timeless on her shelf for years to come.

Since moving to New York, McRae has embraced the city's vibrancy, enjoying the buzz of constant activity. However, she acknowledged the challenges of social engagements, which can make it difficult to decline invitations. Currently, she finds joy in connecting with her family through frequent group FaceTime calls.
