The studies highlighted the multifunctional benefits of sunscreens, particularly Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Invisible Fluid Sunscreen, demonstrating improvements in managing oily and acne-prone skin through its formulation containing 2% trehalose and 2% niacinamide. Research conducted on small, diverse Brazilian populations indicated a 56% reduction in visible redness and significant decreases in acne-related hyperpigmentation and skin oiliness after 28 days of use.
Additionally, a related study showed that Neutrogena’s sunscreen with 2% niacinamide helped enhance skin hydration by 22% and improved skin tone uniformity over a treatment period of 56 days, with over 90% of participants reporting improved hydration.
Aveeno presented findings on the benefits of colloidal oat for skin barrier recovery and support following UV damage. Clinical studies showed that their proprietary Triple Oat Complex increases production of essential skin barrier proteins and accelerates skin recovery, suggesting colloidal oat is effective in maintaining skin health.
A survey of dermatologists indicated that 87.6% often recommend Aveeno’s colloidal oat-based emollients alongside topical corticosteroids for eczema management due to their benefits in hydration and skin barrier enhancement.
Research from Regaine revealed that early use of 5% minoxidil is associated with better hair regrowth outcomes in men with androgenetic alopecia. A post-hoc analysis from a Phase III trial noted greater hair regrowth in younger men and those at earlier stages of hair loss, with statistically significant improvements observed across various classifications of hair loss.
This presentation marks a continuation of the companies' commitment to collaborating with the dermatology community and advancing research in skin and hair health. Neutrogena will also host a session discussing hydration evidence in compromised skin, involving notable industry experts.
