Both fragrances were created by perfumer Michael Carby, who has collaborated with Drake for several years. The first scent, Summer Mink, debuted in spring 2025 as the brand's first traditional Eau de Parfum. Named for the unusual combination of wearing mink in hot weather, this amber woody fragrance blends warm notes with cool spices and citrus, creating a unique contrast. Summer Mink won an Ulta Beauty Award for Best Fragrance Launch, as reported by Buzzfeed.
Following this, Cloudar, a woody aromatic scent featuring tonka bean, cedar, jasmine, and sage, was released earlier this year. Better World Fragrance House began in 2021 with a collection of candles, including Carby Musk, inspired by Drake's personal scent, which combines amber with floral notes. The candles quickly sold out, leading the brand to pursue fragrance products.
In addition to his music career, Drake operates several businesses, including his fashion and lifestyle brand, OVO, along with investments in various industries.
Fragrance has been a recurring theme in Drake's music and public persona for years, appearing in lyrics and interviews. Until now, fans in Canada could only purchase his fragrances online, missing the opportunity to test them in-store.
The new fragrances can now be found at select Sephora locations across Canada and online at Sephora.ca, housed in a distinctive spherical bottle design, with Cloudar featuring a cream-colored matte finish.
