At the signing, Philippe Li, FKCCI vice-president and honorary president, met with Marc-Antoine Jamet, president of Cosmetic Valley and secretary general of LVMH, to explore opportunities for further collaboration. This renewed partnership builds upon an initial agreement from 2018 and follows a Global Cosmetics Cluster delegation visit to Korea in 2022 which enhanced exchanges among industry players.

The new MOU aims to expand business networks, facilitate technology exchanges, and identify commercial opportunities for companies in both countries. The partnership seeks closer engagement between businesses, research institutions, and other stakeholders in the cosmetics industries of France and Korea.

In addition to the agreement, both organizations are working on initiatives to support business connections. FKCCI recently launched Maison France by FKCCI in Seoul, which serves as a hub for networking and cooperation. Meanwhile, Cosmetic Valley is in the process of developing Maison de la Cosmétique in Chartres, set to open in 2028, to foster innovation and international collaboration in the cosmetics field.

These projects, while differing in scope, share a common goal of creating environments conducive to business interactions and partnerships. The signing of the MOU also commemorates the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea, as well as FKCCI’s 40th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, FKCCI presented Jamet and Cosmetic Valley with a special commemorative book detailing the history of bilateral relations.

Established in 1986, FKCCI provides support to French and Korean businesses through various services related to business development, networking, and investment assistance. Cosmetic Valley unites companies and research institutions within the French cosmetics sector and organizes the COSMETIC 360 event.
