Neither ZO Skin Health nor Galderma provided immediate comments when contacted after business hours. ZO Skin Health's parent company, investment firm Blackstone, had been exploring a sale with the assistance of Citigroup and Raymond James, as reported last month. Blackstone declined to comment on Tuesday.

The acquisition will enhance Galderma's footprint in the U.S. market, aligning with its recent establishment of a U.S. and Latin America headquarters in Miami in August. Galderma, which also owns brands such as Cetaphil and Alastin Skincare, along with products like Differin acne gel and the injectable Dysport, is focusing on clinically supported skincare brands that are favored for their effectiveness.

ZO Skin Health, founded by dermatologist Zein Obagi in 2007, specializes in products like cleansers, serums, exfoliators, and toners, which are primarily distributed by healthcare professionals. Blackstone had acquired ZO through its tactical opportunities fund in 2020.
