Managing children's skincare issues can often be more challenging than treating the conditions themselves. For parents of kids with dry, sensitive, or problematic skin, the daily reminders can feel relentless: “Have you moisturized? Did you apply your cream? Wait, you missed a spot!”

While selecting suitable products is essential, encouraging children to adopt and own their skincare routines is equally important. This principle inspired the Australian skincare brand Salvida to create the Vibe Tribe Chart, designed to help children develop a skincare habit in an enjoyable manner.

This reward chart includes 28 stickers and is based on the concept that consistent behavior can establish a habit. Children are encouraged to place a sticker on the chart each day they complete their skincare routine, with a special reward sticker to be awarded at the end of 28 days. Parents can then choose a meaningful reward, transforming what might seem like another daily struggle into an engaging activity.

Salvida’s strategy revolves around involving children in their skincare journey rather than having it be solely a parental responsibility. The Vibe Tribe Chart is available for purchase alongside key products such as Barrier NPR+, BodyGarde, and Everyday Wash.

Founder Jacqui Vidal shared insights into what inspired her to create Salvida and what sets it apart from other children’s skincare products. After dealing with eczema for 25 years and watching her daughter struggle with severe atopic dermatitis, Vidal began formulating her own barrier-support products. She aimed to develop a brand that addresses the emotional and physical toll of managing problematic skin. Salvida offers a straightforward three-product routine that has been tested by 172 families; after four weeks, 88% reported noticeable improvements in their skin condition.

Vidal emphasized that Barrier NPR+ is formulated with non-nano zinc oxide and colloidal oatmeal, designed to help with red, itchy, and irritated skin, especially during summer when heat, chlorine, and saltwater can exacerbate issues. She advises parents to maintain a simple routine: after baths or swimming, apply Barrier NPR+ to affected areas, use Bodyguard as a daily moisturizer, and choose Everyday Everywhere for gentle washing.

In warmer months, common skin concerns include irritations caused by heat, sweat, and changes in routine. Vidal recommends that parents look for fragrance-free products with proven ingredients. She advocates for options that support the skin barrier rather than searching for miracle cures.
